Devaluation and external restriction. Dilemmas current economic situation
Abstract
This work is part of a scenario characterized by the eruption of the global crisis and intensified social and political struggles in Argentina's economy from 2008, which resulted in a change in the development of various economic variables and the emergence of "external constraint" with its attendant effects on the growth cycle. In this context, the aim of this paper is to evaluate the characteristics of the economic process that culminated in the devaluation of the exchange rate in January 2014, seeking to identify cyclical and structural causes-that-influenced the implementation of this measure. Since the knot of problems expressed in the strangulation of the external sector, the various inquiries also helps interpret the peculiarities of this phenomenon today.
