Discussions on industrialization, periphery and new international economic geography
Abstract
This paper aims to contribute to the debate on the characteristics of the new international economic geography, more specifically, to the discussion of what has happened to the periphery of the international capitalist system in that framework. Working with data from the global input-output matrix elaborated by the European Union and with data and indicators of value in foreign trade elaborated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, it is intended to discuss and elaborate original indicators about the relations between industrial promotion, integration of production and employment generation.
Keywords: industrialization; development; input-product; employment.Downloads
