Peer review process
Articles received will be subject to a peer-reviewed selection process. This process has four stages of review:
a) First stage: the editorial team will determine whether the article meets the formal criteria and thematic relevance referred to herein, and may reject an article for its lack of compliance with them, without the need to send it for external evaluation.
b) Second stage: the articles will be sent to two anonymous evaluators specialised in the subject matter of the work, known as "double blind", with the names of both the author and the evaluators being kept confidential. If the external evaluators are not unanimous in their decision of acceptance or rejection, the article will be sent to a third external review. The reviewer will have a maximum period of one month to carry out this work.
c) Third stage: based on the reviewers' comments and suggestions, the article may: i) be accepted as originally submitted; ii) accepted with modifications; or iii) rejected. In all cases, the result of the evaluation, together with the comments and suggestions of the external evaluators, will be sent to the author of the article through the Editorial Board. In appropriate cases, the authors have two weeks from the date of sending the evaluations to make the necessary corrections and modifications, which will be a condition for publication, and send them to the Editorial Board. The corrections made must be visibly highlighted so that the Editorial Board can evaluate them, and must be accompanied by a separate text detailing the reasons why some of the suggestions made in due course were not taken into account.
d) Fourth stage: where appropriate, the Editorial Board verifies the incorporation of the suggestions and comments from the evaluations, or their satisfactory response by the author. Once this review has been completed, the article is accepted definitively, receiving a certificate or letter stating that the article has passed the evaluation process and is awaiting publication, otherwise the article will be rejected.
The author will be informed of the final acceptance or rejection of the article within a maximum period of six months from the date of receipt of the article.
