Artificial intelligence, automation, capitalist restructuring and the future of labour
a literature review
Abstract
The development of new technologies that allow different levels of autonomy with respect to human work, seems to show a significant renewal in recent years. Although automation and restructuring processes are not a novelty in world capitalism, digital and cyber-physical innovations have marked the most dynamic and innovative dimension since the 1980s. This new phase promises to be radically different and encompass a much broader domain of problems. Through the analysis of the most relevant bibliography related to this topic, this work aims to contribute to the debates about the specific applications (and limitations) of these new technologies, their links with productive restructuring and impact about the world of labour.
Keywords: artificial intelligence; automation; capitalist restructuring; world of labour.
